Built: 1825, York, PA
Captains:
Specifications: First iron-hull steam boat,
60 ft. x 16 ft. wide,
drew less than two feet when loaded.
Notes: Arrived in Craven County in
Jan. 1829 to connect Newbern with Beaufort
by way of Clubfoot and Harlowe Canal. On
its second trip it carried 16 passengers and
freight. With a new engine installed in 1830,
it continued runs between Newbern and Beaufort.
