Notes: Publicized as a new steamer in 1837, this vessel was built and
outfitted in Doyle O'Hanlon's Wilmington shipyard. Designed to replace
O'Hanlon's Steamer John Walker, which was lost in June 1836. It operated between
Wilmington and Fayetteville from April 18, 1837, and 1847, when it sank below the
Wilmington Railroad wharf. The ship's machinery was salvaged.
